You will need to make your own arrangements to book accommodation in London. Please be aware that reasonably-priced accommodation in Central London is scarce and fills up quickly in Spring so we recommend that you make provisional bookings as soon as you can.
This recent article in the Guardian lists the best new budget hotels in London. If there are good transport links, it may be worth considering staying further away from the immediate vicinity of Bloomsbury.
There is currently very limited accommodation available at the following university residences
- Goodenough College (single with shared bathroom or ensuite: £60-£75 per night)
- Goldsmith House – Women only (single with shared bathroom £41-59 per night)
- Helen Graham House – Women only (single with shared bathroom £50 per night)
Bookings can be made via www.universityrooms.com (the output of your search for dates may only give you options at Goodenough, click on ‘Include more properties in London’ at the bottom of the page to see further options)
There are also a number of Airbnb properties in areas close to Chandler House (e.g. Kings Cross, Euston) or within an easy bus commute (e.g. Angel/Islington, Camden Town, Highbury) that may be cheaper than local hotel rooms.
Private rooms can be booked at the YHA on Euston Road which is 5 minutes walk away from Chandler House. Prices vary from £69 to £135 dependent on the number of beds and whether the room is ensuite or with shared bathroom.
There are a number of other hostels in Bloomsbury near Chandler House that offer private room as well as dormitories, although they mostly cater for large groups. See http://www.hostelworld.com/ for further information.
